We are Luca and Federico.

After growing up together, we decided to found MoS when it became evident to both of us that not only do we have a fierce common passion for wine, but we also share the same vision: our wines must be genuine, just like we are.

A TINY WINERY AND A HANDFUL OF VINEYARDS

With the vintage of 2018, we took the chance to give our own interpretation of the territory where we grew up, the Cembra Valley in the northern Region of Trentino, and of the vineyards our families had cultivated before us for generations.

We currently grow:

6 different varieties, Chardonnay, Riesling, Schiava, Müller Thurgau, Pinot Gris and Pinot Noir
different plots of land, between Lisignago e Zambana
on approximately 2,5 hectares of land
located at an altitude between 220 and 680 meters above sea level.

HEROIC VITICULTURE

It seems as if time has stopped in the Cembra Valley: endless dry stone walls, built over a hundred of years ago, break the steep slopes, allowing for a slow and strenuous yet truly gratifying viticulture.

In our vineyards, mechanization is limited, sometimes simply impossible: there, we let no order or simmetry rule, but we rather continuously strive to find balance between our scrupulous operations and the vines that follow their natural forms.

OUR AGRICULTURE IN BRIEF

We refuse the exasperation of production:

Appropriate amount of buds left with pruning;
More than 10 years ago we stopped using any chemical weed-killers;
We strive to use only covering-products during treatments;
No chemical fertilizations;
Only rescue-irrigation.

With his vast experience, Federico cultivates the vineyards with integrity and authentic dedication, while Luca sensitively interprets the expression of our terroir, bringing solid technical expertise and a clear-eyed vision of the wine industry.

We are two dedicated and tenacious individuals: within the intimate space of MoS, we proudly take care of every single step, from the field to the bottle.

The two wine lines are meant to highlight the characteristics of our grapes: with the first, we enhance the freshness and drinkability for ready-to drink wines, with the second we aim for complexity and longevity, also thanks to the use of barrels.

Through the observation and understanding of the natural cycles in the vineyards, as well as the careful and minimal use of sulphites, we interpret our grapes from year to year in order to obtain wines that are always authentic and never opulent.
